Stability

To a forces family, a boarding school can offer stability, both academically and socially. Some families move around the country or overseas quite often and sometimes sporadically. By choosing to board, pupils can enjoy a stable education and friendship group, allowing them to nurture and develop with their cohort without the stresses of moving to a new environment and meeting new people and re-establishing their academic footing.

With this confidence, pupils will gain the ability to try new things, speak openly, seek help when needed and even to challenge themselves, all leading to a happy, fulfilled pupil with a good level of self-esteem.

All-Through Education

Relating to stability, another benefit is the ability for your child to experience an all-through education. At Lincoln Minster School, day and boarding pupils can start their journey with us from the age of four, all the way up to Sixth Form level. This is an incredibly valuable experience and one that can enhance your child’s learning in many ways; one being the ability to closely monitor your child’s progress through each year group, allowing the school to implement actions or changes to tuition delivery to ensure they are on track to being a high achiever.

Other benefits to an all-through education as a boarding pupil is that both the teachers and boarding team will be in constant contact with each other to pass on any progress or aims; aims that both parties can build towards.

Wellbeing

Boarding pupils from forces families can benefit from wellbeing initiatives and support provided by the school and boarding house staff throughout their stay. 

Lincoln Minster School has recently been shortlisted for Independent School of the Year for Student Wellbeing in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2022 for their high quality and range of pastoral support and wellbeing provision.
